As of an hour ago, the first leg of our safety features is live. Which is to be able to report an Event.

Events In Plain Sight is laser focused on helping people find and promote Events. But not if they are doing it in a way that is hateful or discriminatory.

Every Event now has a 'report event' link in the top right. Clicking that opens a pop-up asking for information about the report. When an Event gets 3 reports it automatically gets quarantined.

When a report is created, the owner of the Community and the Events In Plain Sight team get an email. The Community owner sees the reports (but not details around who did them if reporter was logged in at the time) and can moderate the report to either 'accept' or 'reject' it.

An Event is de-quarantined if they reject enough reports to get it below three reports.

The standards each Community have are unique to them, which is why the goal is to let the Community instill their norms. That said, Events In Plain Sight staff will step in if those norms are against broader societal, legals, etc. standards.
