A couple big features landed last week.
#Features
#Email Subscriptions
A signed-in user can now subscribe to a Community, Organizer, Location or Event. Once subscribed, you will get an email overnight Sunday with Events that are happening in the upcoming week.
- If it is a pretty localized Community, then subscribing at that level might make sense
- If you care only about a specific League, Team, Group, etc. then at the Organizer level makes sense
- If it is the venue you care about (a specific old-timey cinema for instance), then Location is for you
- If you just want to be reminded specific Events, then subscribe to it directly
This way casual users don't have to keep coming back to the Community to come to discover your Events. Again, one of the underlying goals of Events In Plain Sight is to drive traffic to your Events, not the site.
#Multi-Organizer Events
Some Communities are around sports (like My Derby Diary is for Roller Derby) where you have multiple 'things' (leagues, teams, etc.) associated with an Event. Prior to this change, only the Organizer associated with the Event would have it associated with them. Now, you can attach it to other ones as well and have it appear on their page. Now both sides get an increase in marketing. Subscribers too will get it in their weekly upcoming events email. (See above.)

#The State Of Canadian Roller Derby
We published The State Of Canadian Roller Derby which analyses Roller Derby in Canada from our unique lens. TLDR; it appears to have shrunk, but sometimes that is health.
#Multi-Channel Event Marketing Guide
As part of doing The State Of Canadian Roller Derby, a bunch of low hanging fruit became clear, so it was wrapped all up in our first Multi-Channel Event Marketing Guide.
#Mailing List Sign-up
And finally, subscriptions to the monthly mailing list are back on the main page (and to get the Multi-Channel Event Marketing Guide). It got lost when registrations were enabled back in January.
#This Week
This is a short week due to Easter and some other commitments, but still have some exciting things planned.
